US Deploys Most Advanced Navy Aircraft Carrier – USS GERALD FORD

The US Navy deployed its most advanced aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald Ford, on Tuesday to take part in joint exercises with allies in the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea.

The vessel is the first new aircraft carrier designed by the US Navy in four decades, and apparently boasts three times the electrical power of Nimitz-class carriers.

The deployment will involve 20 ships and 60 aircraft from the US, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden. (RT)

The ship comes with a slew of new technologies, including electromagnetic catapults that can launch planes and advanced weapons elevators that will move bombs and missiles up to the flight deck.

This is not only one of the most advanced aircraft carriers to enter the waters, surpassing the Navy’s Nimitz-class carriers, but also the world’s largest.
