Google and YouTube now Blocked the Pages of the Russian Federation Council
The Google company YouTube now blocked the pages of the Russian Federation Council and its TV channel.
The content included sessions of the upper house, comments by senators and programs about Russia’s history. All videos have now been permanently deleted.
“Google has blocked the Federation Council’s pages on YouTube. The channels had more than 200,000 subscribers and 20,000 videos,” a statement from the Russian authority on Telegram said.
According to the statement, the upper house of the Russian parliament and the associated TV channel had been present on YouTube for eight years. The deleted videos were live broadcasts of the sessions, forums, comments by senators, and educational programs on Russia’s history.
All content will now be permanently deleted. Google absurdly explained the measure with its “rules on export restrictions and sanctions.”
