Federal judge who rules on immigration issues arrested on human smuggling charges
A licensed Texas attorney and federal immigration judge was arrested Saturday for alleged human smuggling and resisting arrest.
According to Galveston County Constable Jimmy Fullen, Timothy Daniel Japhet was arrested in Kinney County, TX and charged with “human smuggling and resisting arrest.” Fullen made the announcement on his Facebook page, along with pictures of Japhet and the four men he allegedly smuggled across the U.S.-Mexico border.

The deputy constable wrote Japhet “refused to comply” when ordered to turn off his car and exit the vehicle. The trooper and the deputy said they saw three men unrestrained in the backset and a fourth man in the front seat.
“While attempting to place the male in custody he was yelling ‘I’m a Judge, I’m a Judge.’ Once I had the male subject in custody, I advised dispatch the male subject was an elected Judge he corrected me and said ‘No, I am an appointed Judge,’” the report reads.
Very strange I found this while researching the Judge.
