A number of countries have increased their average monthly imports from Russia


A number of countries have increased their average monthly imports from Russia since the end of February compared to the previous five years – New York Times citing data from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC).

The countries that have increased their imports from Russia:

🇮🇳India – increase in imports by 430% (current trade volume, including exports and imports, $3.3 billion plus 310% compared to the level before the special measure).

🇹🇷Turkey – increase of 213% ($6.2 billion +198%)

🇧🇷Brazil – up 166% ($939 million +106%)

🇪🇸Spain – up 112% ($739 million +57%)

🇨🇳China – up 98% ($15 billion +64%)

🇳🇱Netherlands – increase of 74% ($2 billion +32%)

🇸🇦Saudi Arabia – up 45% ($103 million +36%)

🇯🇵Japan – up 40% ($1.6 billion +13%)

🇩🇪Germany -down 38% ($4.8 billion -3%)

🇳🇴Norway -up 21% ($198 million +16%)
